This week at Bungie, we’re talking Solstice loot, the Gunsmith reputation change, and finally, we’d like to invite you to save a special date.

Before we get into the latest TWAB, we want to share a little statement after the recent events, especially the cases of harassment in our community. Our goal is to develop a healthy, inclusive and kind society. While there has been a lot of talk about online harassment, we want to take this opportunity to remind people that as we have done in the past, Bungie is not trying to bully, attack, or gang up on anyone involved in litigation. The best way to support this community is to be a positive example of the kindness and inclusiveness that is at the heart of being a Trustee.

For this week’s TWAB, we’re sharing some details about a specific August date you’ll want to keep an eye out for. We also check out some great Solstice rewards for players to earn in the real world, open the Trials of Osiris to voting once again, and see what’s up with our good friend Banshee-44. But first, let’s get down to business with next month’s special event, because frankly, we’re too giddy to hold back. However, let’s get right down to it, shall we?

We’re ready to announce the next Destiny 2 Showcase date! We invite you to mark August 23, 2022 in your calendars. No spoilers, but we’re excited to show you what’s next. Who knows, maybe we’ll have some surprises ahead of that proverb.

Please enjoy the little teaser below, because you know we’re super excited to leave it all with “save the date.” To prepare for the Exposition looming on the horizon, watch the “No Escape” video below, which takes a look at the history of the Light and Dark story.

We also want to take this moment to set some expectations before the Showcase itself. TWABs will not be announcing any major news before this date as we have a few exciting things lined up for next month. We’ll still update you all on what’s happening in the live game itself, but we won’t be sharing any groundbreaking revelations until everyone (not you, The Witness) has witnessed the drop of the Showcase next month.

And if you may have missed it previous TWAB, we’re still looking for Guardian profile videos to feature in the featured Showcase! Don’t be shy, go ahead and share your favorite memories, good times with friends along the way and anything else you want to share with us on social media using the #GuardianProfiles hashtag. makes you a guardian. Tag us in those moments, we’d love to see them!

We’ve been making changes to various outfits in Destiny 2, and with a new Season on the horizon, the team thinks Season 18 is the perfect time to make some changes to ‘ol Banshee. We’ve got it to talk about what kinds of changes players can look forward to as they prepare to rank the Gunsmith reputation track. Economics Feature Host Joshua Kulinski Some of these changes are in the name of the team.

Joshua Kulinski: Over the past two Seasons, we’ve been valuing your feedback as well as information on the development of Gunsmith’s reputation. Like Banshee-44’s memory, it’s not in the state we want it to be. To address this, we’re making a few changes in Season 18. A quick overview of what players can expect:

First, starting in Season 18, completing the daily Gunsmith rewards will now grant 50 Gunsmith reputations each (up from 25) for a total of 200 Gunsmith reputations each day. That’s why you’ll want to be sure and get up close and personal to say hi to ‘ol Exo while you’re hanging out at the Tower.

Second, and more impressively for players, the Gunsmith’s reputation from scrapping legendary or exotic weapons and armor will be increased to 5 each (up from 3). This will give a significant boost to the rate at which Weaponsmith reputation can be earned.

In general, we want engaged players to be able to restore Banshee-44’s reputation at least once per Season. Although these changes coming in Season 18 will allow players to rank with Exo more efficiently, we will continue to monitor and evaluate development over the coming Seasons. Hopefully these changes will make the Gunsmith reputation system feel more useful in Season 18. So go out and get that loot! As Banshee-44 always says, “Every little bit helps. Trust me. ”

Solstice is alive and well, and now we can all touch the grass together in the Tower. Do you feel it? This is quality photosynthesis. You know what else quality is? The new Bungie Rewards 2022 Solstice Shirt and T-Shirt are now available in the Bungie Store. OK, OK, that Flamekeeper Seal Pin is pretty cool too, not gonna lie.

If you’re like me and can’t control yourself when it comes to awesome new loot, earning the latest stuff is pretty simple. (No glowy-y parts, but if you really wanted to, we could make them radioactive. Maybe. Come right back, check with Legal…). For the wearable, Guardians must make sure to complete Solstice’s onramp chase sequence by 10:00am on August 9th. For the pin, Guardians must complete the 2022 Solstice Seal and earn this associated title by the same date. No, you’re not crazy, this is actually Solstice’s first time getting a Seal, so go ham. After all, the great Rihanna once said, “Be bright like a diamond.” Just pretending to be a “diamond” means that sweet, sweet armor shine. It’s practically the same thing.

The sun is a fatal defeat …

Solstice is alive, our Player Support team is caffeinated; ready to rock! There’s more on Bonfire Bash activity and missing Bungie Foundation emblems in this week’s Player Support Report. As the event begins, more known issues are identified and resolved. For now, here’s what the team has in store for the near future.

This is their report.

Maximum Silver Ash

Players who complete the Bonfire Bash activity while maintaining maximum Silver Ash can exchange their Silver Leaf without receiving Silver Ash.

Players must ensure they have room to earn more Silver Ashes before completing the activity.

Known issues

As we continue to investigate various known issues, here is a list of the most recent issues reported to us in our #Help forum:

  • Some players who donate to the Bungie Foundation Giving Festival may have empty emblems listed in their Collections.
  • Candescent armor’s Kindling and Ember armor mod slots incorrectly use the Battle style armor mod icon on the armor’s menu screen.
  • The Solstice Seashore set does not unlock for the player after unpacking. We are currently working on a fix for affected players.
  • The latest update made unexpected changes to The Last Word damage output, the next patch will bring it back to intended levels.
  • Some activities do not drop Silver Leaves, including Eternal Dares, Sever, Sorrow Altars, Patrols, and the Well of the Blind.
  • The Hyperborean Pinion exotic Sparrow earned from the Solstice victory “Fuel for the Fire III” does not appear in collections.
  • Solstice Candescent armor cannot be synthesized into armor ornament.
  • Molten Overload Grenade sometimes doesn’t stun champions.
  • The “Claim” button is not visible on the Season Pass Reward page for Hunter characters. Players can still claim items by scrolling down the Season Pass track reward and clicking the claim button on individual unclaimed rewards listed.
  • Some completed victories cannot be tracked for some players.
For a complete list of emergency issues in Destiny 2, players can check us out Known issues article. Players who notice other issues should let us know #Help forum.

For fans of the game cinema, we have two different experiences to enjoy. Relive the nostalgia of playing with friends for old-fashioned couch co-op as four Guardians enter a Duality dungeon. This video is helpful because friends have even traveled to different countries to make this happen, and if that isn’t just the cutest thing, I don’t know what is.

For our second choice, and let’s be honest, this is me we’re talking about so no one is surprised, you can go the meme route and enjoy her breakdancing during Caiatl’s final Catharsis mission for Haunted Season. Because of course.

Do you have popcorn? Good. Enjoy!

Movie of the week: With Our Joint Powers

Movie of the week: In a word, catharsis

Bruno: I love Eris. I love Drifter. I love Moondust and Rat and I hope they share some of the love. They tolerate each other and at least work well. Anyway, I never thought such a short and seemingly meaningless statement would be among my favorite Destiny 2 quotes, but here we are.

Art of the Week: ‘Be careful, rat’

Ivan: Who said Cabal can’t be cute?

Art of the Week: Om nom nom

Bonus AOTW option? This time of year? At this time of day? Is this fully localized within TWAB? Well then!

Bonus art of the week: Forged in fire

Before we head out, we have one more thing for Trials of Osiris players to try. For those itching for a specific map to advance to the next Trial rotation, you’ll have another chance to determine where the battle will go. On July 25th, players who opt-in to receive Bungie marketing emails will be able to vote for the map they want to see in the Trials Labs rotation, which will be between Eternity, Widow’s Court, and Rusted Lands.

We also wanted to sweeten up the Guardian sound boiler a bit. We have a new community goal for those interested in getting a shiny new emblem. If we can get 77,000 votes in the first 48 hours of live voting, a special reward will be unlocked through Bungie Awards. This emblem is redeemable whether or not you receive our marketing emails.

Whether you caught us at our Showcase next month or you’re making a last-minute Nightmare Containment run for that dope Reaper title, we’re excited to share the future of Destiny and Bungie with you. As for next week, we’ll do a post small See what’s changed in the PvP realm, as well as a different kind of “history save”. Interested? See you next Thursday, Guardianetc.

In the meantime, you know the drill: drink that water, take care of yourself, and keep being your amazingly kind self.
