The first State Banquet hosted by King Charles took place this evening at Buckingham Palace. The royal family welcomed Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of the Republic of South Africa. His wife, First Lady Tshepo Motsepe, was unable to travel to the UK due to medical reasons. The the last State Banquet took place in 2019When Queen Elizabeth hosted then-President Donald Trump.
In addition to King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also in attendance at the State Banquet this evening. Duke of KentLady Susan Hussey and the Honorable Annabel Whitehead, former lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth.
