Splinter Cell Remake will not be open world

Ubisoft is known to primarily only work on open-world titles, which had some fans worried that Splinter Cell might suffer due to its open-world implementation.

But there is Ubisoft Montreal, the developers of the game clarified that unlike their other recent games, this remake will be a linear action-adventure title.
