Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse It takes place ten years after five young girls mysteriously disappeared during a moonlight festival on Rogetsu Island in southern Japan. Ten years after their initial disappearance, when two of the girls are found dead days apart, the remaining three teenagers return to the haunted island to solve the mystery of their friend’s death and their hazy memories, while encountering the terrifying spirits that inhabit the land. .
Along the way, they will enter the Khaybara hospital. This old hospital is now in ruins, but Dr. Haibara’s experiments to cure “Moonlight Syndrome” proved fatal. The girls will also return to Rogetsu Hall, a sanatorium built to treat ‘Moonlight Syndrome’. It is a hotel-like building adjacent to Haibara hospital where only “special guests” can be admitted. Being the closest point to the moon on the island, the lighthouse holds a special meaning for moon-worshiping residents. An ancient sanctuary was moved to the upper part of the lighthouse. Meanwhile, Yomotsuki Residence is the birthplace of one of the missing girls, Ruka Minazuki, and visiting the house brings back a flood of important memories. It’s also Ruka’s father’s man, a respected mask master named Soya Yomotsuki. Soya is busy perfecting the “Moon Eclipse Mask” and is accused by Ruka’s mother, Sayaka Minazuki, of playing a role in Ruka’s disappearance! To uncover the truth behind their disappearances and shocking deaths, Ruka and her friends will have to fight ghosts and a wanted killer to unlock the secrets of their lost memories.
