“I wouldn’t get down on my knees and beg anybody,” Elon Musk insisted to The Post on Monday. Breaking friendship with Google co-founder Sergey Brin by sleeping with his wife.
The 51-year-old billionaire hit back after the Wall Street Journal reported that he knelt down and begged Brin, 48, for forgiveness after his best friend had an argument with his estranged wife, Nicole Shanahan.
“We trust our source and stand by our reporting,” the magazine said in a statement on Monday.
Musk, who has vehemently denied sleeping with Shanahan, maintained that he and Brin are still on very good terms, despite rumors that their friendship had cooled following the alleged infidelity.
The world’s richest man insisted exclusively to The Post that he never got down on one knee in front of his fellow billionaire because, “I would only get down on one knee to propose.
“And I didn’t propose to Sergey,” Musk scoffed.

He asked if he was planning to sue the media outlet The alleged December fling was the catalyst for Brin’s divorce, he saidThe Tesla tycoon said it was better to express his denial on Twitter.
“A legal action by a public figure against a news organization in America is futile. Better to deny or ignore on Twitter, which is what I do most of the time,” Musk told The Post in an email.
“I spoke to both Sergey and Nicole about the article and they were adamant that they had not spoken to the WSJ and had not authorized anyone else to speak for them,” Musk said.
“Besides, I was with Sergey with a lot of mutual friends from Saturday night until yesterday afternoon, and it was a very positive atmosphere.”
Earlier on Monday, Musk sent The Post a photo of himself hanging out with Brin, as he insisted the fling claims were “total bs” and said he “didn’t even have sex for ages” (sigh).

Musk also said he only saw Shanahan twice in three years, and both times with “a lot of people around him.”
“We were in no way romantically involved,” Musk said before doubling down on similar messages shared on Twitter.
On Monday evening, the eccentric billionaire became concerned about the unwanted attention he was receiving.
“The amount of attention I got went supernova, it’s super gross,” Musk tweeted. “I’ll do my best to focus on doing useful things for civilization.”
The magazine reported, citing a person close to Shanahan, that Brin and Shanahan broke up but lived together during a so-called fling during the well-heeled Miami Art Basel festival.
The $90 billion Google co-founder filed for divorce in January, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
