The full truck brand has introduced its first Electric pickup truck at CES Before its launch in 2024.
The Ram 1500 Revolution concept is a full-size battery-powered truck that previews a production model that will compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV.
Ram CEO Mike Koval He told FOX Business that despite being the last of the Big Three truck makers to enter the segment, he thinks the timing is perfect.

“When the demand is right and the maturity between the infrastructure and the market is in a better place, we will be right at that intersection, so we like our position very much,” Koval said in an exclusive interview.

Ford delivered just over 15,000 F-150 Lightnings in 2022, but plans to increase annual production to 150,000 by the end of 2023. Silverado EV It is scheduled to begin deliveries to fleet customers this spring.

Despite all the competition, Koval thinks there will be plenty of buyers.
“Of course, it’s going to take some time, and this adoption curve is debatable as to how quickly that’s going to happen, but I see it trending in that direction,” he said.
Pricing has not been announced, but the Revolution will be offered in commercial and consumer versions.
“I am confident in our ability to walk and chew gum. I think we can do both,” Koval said.

According to Koval, current Ram owners are open-minded about an electric truck, but won’t compromise on the “core attributes” they expect from a pickup truck.
“Which, of course, historically has been towing and payload, but more importantly, in the future, it’s becoming more about distance and charging time. So we plan to surpass what our competitors are announcing,” Koval said.
The F-150 Lighting and Silverado EV both offer up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, and Chevrolet promises a model with 400 miles of range between charges.

In addition to the power unit, revolution It’s equipped with a number of unique features, including a third row of seats and a pass-through that allows 18-foot items such as beams and pipes to be loaded from the bed, cabin and front trunk.

“My favorite feature is what we call Shadow Mode,” Koval said.
“You can actually ask your Ram to follow you around so you don’t have to use both feet to get in and out of your truck” when you’re working on a farm or construction site, for example.
The exact start date for production will be announced later, but Koval said the final production version will be revealed soon.
