The horrifying footage shows the moment the drivers were in the major Canada On Monday, the highway received hail the size of golf balls.

Gibran Marquez was driving along a central Alberta highway with two other people when the three had to pull over when the car hit a hailstorm.

Marquez posted a video of the storm on the Internet Twitter It showed passengers being pulled to the side of the highway and ducking as shrapnel shattered car windows.

Underneath the video is the caption: “Horrifying 17 minutes of broken car windows during hailstorm 5km south of petrol alley last night.

“Put the backpack on your left,” Marquez can be heard saying as he passes the windshield shatterproof bag to the driver.

The driver protects the female passenger from breaking the glass in his lap while hail is pouring down from the cracks of the window. People outside can be heard screaming as the storm rages on.

Coincidentally, parts of Alberta had a high of 80 F and a low of 56 F on Monday, according to The Weather Channel.

Marquez released another video of the moments when the hail began to hit the car.

“Oh my god,” screams a female passenger as the hailstones slowly begin to shatter the windshield.

Meanwhile, Marquez shows that the rear window of the car is partially broken.

“I had to get the footage of this.. the world needs to see how serious these storms can be in seconds,” Marquez wrote in response to a commenter.

Marquez later claimed some suffered cuts, bruises and a mild concussion. A photo of a female passenger being treated by a firefighter was shared as a rainbow peaked in the background.

The car driven by Marquez had a yellow warning tape attached to the side of the road.

Marquez shared photos of some drivers returning to the highway while others were untouched when the storm passed.

After the storm, the Alberta Emergency Warning issued a Tornado Warning that was no longer in effect on Monday.

Grapefruit-sized hail was reported in parts of Alberta. The NHP Field Project photographed one of their balls filled with a sovereign.

Meanwhile, another commuter in Markerville, Alberta, showed off a piece of hail he picked up from the storm.

“I can’t even,” Mhairi tweeted. ‘I panicked before putting it inside the ruler properly. Tennis Balls at Markerville East 5:50 p.m. They are still going down. Be clear.’

Users took to Twitter to share photos of their experiences with the hashtag ‘abstorm’.

Storm chaser TL Carmody shared a photo of the family’s car that crashed in the middle of a hail storm.

I met a very shaken family [the] McDonald’s in Innisfail got caught in the hail,” wrote TL Carmody. “Everyone is fine and they let me take pictures.”
