The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released the first image of it NOAA-21 Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometry Suite (VIIRS) instrument.

The recently launched satellite captured a stunning panoramic view of the Earth, created from some of the data collected all over the globe during the 24 hours until December. 5 and 6 December.

Polar orbiting satellites, unlike geostationary satellites, observe the entire planet twice a day.

According to the agency, the mosaic image shows bright blue water with phytoplankton in the Caribbean Sea, moving weather systems and haze from agricultural fires in northern India.

Dr. Satya Kalluri, a scientist with the Joint Polar Satellite System program, said in a statement that the turquoise color around Cuba and the Bahamas is caused by sediments in the shallow waters around the continental shelf.

VII provides measurement of ocean color help detect harmful algal blooms and monitor phytoplankton activity and sea surface temperature.

On land, the instrument also flying on the NOAA-20 and Suomi-NPP satellites of the Joint Polar Satellite System – can detect and measure the intensity of wildfiresdroughts and floods.

Fire intensity is given to a product that tracks the thickness and movement of forest fire smoke.

VIIRS also produces critical environmental products on snow and ice cover, clouds, haze, aerosols, and dust, as well as global crop health.

Unlike geostationary satellites, polar-orbiting satellites capture bits of data all over the globe and observe the entire planet twice a day. The device was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in November. 10.

NOAA-21, formerly known as JPSS-2, is the second operational satellite in a series called the Joint Polar Satellite System.
